This is the tour for people who want the two best-known underground cities — Kaymaklı and Derinkuyu — without a coach group setting the pace. It is private, so the timing is yours: linger on a level that interests you, or move on when you have seen enough.

Kaymaklı is the wider, shallower city about 10 km north; Derinkuyu is the deeper one. Doing both back to back is the clearest way to feel how the Cappadocian underground cities differ, and a private guide makes the comparison rather than leaving you to guess.

One thing to know before you book: this tour covers transport and guiding, but the entry tickets to each city (about 13 euro apiece) are paid on site, not included in the price. That keeps the headline price lower, but budget for the two admissions on the day.

Itinerary

• Pickup. A private hotel pickup in Göreme or your Cappadocia village in an air-conditioned vehicle.
• Kaymaklı Underground City. The wider of the two cities first — broad, low rooms across several levels, with the entry paid on site.
• Derinkuyu Underground City. On to the deeper city, about 10 km south, for the steeper descent and the taller ventilation shafts; entry again paid on site.
• Return. Back to your hotel at your own pace — the private format means no waiting on a group.

Hotel pickup and drop-off in Göreme and the nearby Cappadocia villages is included in this tour, so there is no separate meeting point to find. Bring a light layer for the constant 10–15°C underground and flat, grippy shoes for the carved staircases. There are no toilets inside the underground city, so use the facilities in the town first.
